Donegal Chapter of Trout Unlimited
By Kelly Meinhart
rout
Unlimited (TU) is a group of conservation-minded anglers promoting
quality trout and salmon fisheries — both for their intrinsic
value as well as for watershed health. In this weeks Watersheds.tv
program, we're traveling to Lititz to meet with the Donegal
Chapter of TU.
he
Donegal Chapter has been working in South Central Pennsylvania
since the group formed in 1967, and now has over one hundred
members all dedicated to preserving cold-water fisheries in
their area. Among their accomplishments include the restoration
of Donegal Creek, and the restoration of Lititz Run is nearly
complete. he
following ten minute video presentation, produced by MaxFilms
in Ephrata, gives us a look at Lititz Run as well as the town
of Lititz, to see that partnerships really do work when it comes
to getting stream restoration work done. Natural stream design
methods have been implemented along Lititiz Run to restore its
banks, creating a healthier habitat for aquatic life and a healthier
stream for all.
hanks
to MaxFilms for submitting this presentation, and congratulations
to the members of Donegal TU and all their partners for their
efforts in restoring these waterways.
