Watershed Heroes
By Kelly Meinhart, Producer

ver the past four years of the Watersheds.tv programming, we’ve brought you hundreds of stories of real people making a difference in their communities, whether they’re volunteering or protecting the environment for a living — these folks have helped to improve the quality of the water in our creeks, streams and rivers.

he purpose of the Watershed ‘Hero’ feature has been to highlight some of these folks and use their story to inspire other people to get involved, or to take their involvement to a new level; for there’s no better inspiration than that of leading by example.

he Watersheds.tv program is ending June 30th, as our grant comes to a close. It’s a sad time for me, as a Producer, as I’ve grown personally attached to the watershed community of Pennsylvania, and have felt honored to be able to share the positive results that have become a reality because of everyone’s hard work and dedication.

ven though we won’t be airing new programs, you can still rely on Watersheds.tv as a resource for your watershed by accessing the archives of the stories we’ve covered over the past four years! Haven’t visited the archives lately? Check it out!

o close out the Watershed Hero programming, Allison, our Technical Director at GreenTreks, and I have put together a special program to salute everyone in the watershed community – because you are all truly heroes!

hank you to everyone who has helped to make Watersheds.tv such a huge success, and for making cleaner water for everyone, a priority.
