If you're involved with a watershed association that is just 'getting its feet wet' in order to restore the water quality in your hometown watershed — then this web page, and the information contained within are for you!

The two programs featured here will help you learn all the little things you'll need to know to get your association started; like how to file for 501(c) (3) status, apply for funding, and how to engage a board of directors. All of these concepts and much more are the features of "Forming A Watershed Association". You can read about these details, and then watch the video for even more valuable information about the subjects.

Then, once you've gotten your association formed, you will need to know how to get the word out to the community to get other volunteers involved and to solicit help from area businesses and organizations. That's where "Communicating Your Message" comes in! This valuable information, both in written and in video format, will guide you through writing a press release and working effectively with the press, all the way through scheduling visits with your local and state elected officials.

Both fact packs are available in hard-copy format, each including informational booklets and accompanying videos.

The fact packs are:

• Forming A Watershed Association
Video Presentation
Text Information (PDF file, 700K)

• Communicating Your Message
