Dam Removal

ennsylvania and Wisconsin have more dams on their rivers than any other states. Next to Alaska, Pennsylvania has more miles of river than any other state. Put those two facts together and it adds up to a lot of dams on Pennsylvania’s rivers. While many of the larger dams are still being used for the hydroelectric energy they produce, many of the smaller 'mill' dams are no longer serving a purpose and are slowly being removed to free up our rivers.
