Making Better Energy Choices |

Almost everything we do requires energy and most of the
products and services we use have energy “histories”
that we don't see. In the U.S., more than half of our
electricity is generated by burning coal. Mining affects
the health of people, wildlife, and water systems; combustion
emits pollutants that cause acid rain, smog, and contribute
to global warming. Fortunately, cleaner, greener alternatives
exist.
