"Thanks to your efforts, we have been able to reach thousands of people, broaden our education base, and teach people about the importance of protecting our valuable water resources. Working with GreenTreks has been a great partnership."

VIDEO
My
Name is Jeremiah
Wildlands Conservancy and Mock Turtle Marionette Theater
Greentreks' creative team turned a simple video version of a limited
run play into a richly textured film that utilized innovative camera
techniques and juxtaposed the whimsical life-sized puppets from the
play against archival footage and computer-generated sets. The program
touched a broad audience with its educational message and helped the
partnership gain new funding support.
The
Water We Share
PBS
39
A regional public television station asked GreenTreks to create a
documentary examining how the Lehigh Valley's waterways laid the foundation
for its growth and development. The resulting four-part mini-series
aired multiple times and became the foundation for a comprehensive
educational outreach program that served dozens of area schools.
Communities Coming Together
Delaware
Riverkeeper
GreenTreks was challenged to create a video that would help a lay
audience understand how to design and implement a stream restoration
project. The Big Question: how to present such a dry subject without
boring viewers to tears? We took one group working in the field and
filmed them in an intimate documentary style. While getting to know
the people, viewers unwittingly learn the steps needed to make a project
successful from securing funding to feeding volunteers to maintaining
the site after the project is done.
WEB
ACCER ¡Amigos!
In developing an interactive web community that connects American
schools with their counterparts in the Peruvian Amazon, GreenTreks
knew they had to come up with a site that was both useful to teachers
and appealing to kids. An animated home page that offers visitors
the chance to explore and discover what lies inside the "jungle" entryway
set the tone for the rest of the site.
The
EAC Network
With a broad goal of developing a site that could serve as an educational
and communications platform for people interested in community-based
"Environmental Advisory Councils", or EACs, GreenTreks settled on
a media rich, highly interactive site. Experience had shown us that
streaming video and other multimedia techniques would enable the EAC
Network to share its many stories far more compellingly than mere
images and text. The site has been credited with inspiring new EACs
to form, and its visitorship continues to grow.
The Greater Philadelphia Commercial
Recycling Council
When
the GPCRC approached GreenTreks to design its web site, the organization’s
focus was on getting information to its constituents and potential
members in a no-nonsense, easy to access way. Even though the site
is a wealth of resources, navigation had to be simple, and the site
had to be simple to maintain so staff could easily update it.
OTHER PROJECTS
The EAC Network
PowerPoint Presentation
After
GreenTreks developed their EAC website, the Pennsylvania Environmental
Council decided they wanted to take their message out on the road.
Their goal was to encourage individuals to create Environmental Advisory
Councils in their own communities and share EAC success stories with
other groups all over the state. Using the latest technologies, GreenTreks
developed a presentation that is easily navigable; can be quickly
updated and customized for specific audiences; and includes embedded
videos, interactive maps, and other media to get the message across.
