Greenways: The Way to Go is a documentary project funded by Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to highlight the many economic, recreation and conservation benefits of greenways in the Commonwealth. Our travels took us across the state to meet some of the different people who are working to bring Greenways to their communities.

• A technique called Conservation Subdivision creates open spaces in new housing developments by setting aside half or more of every parcel for preservation.
• PA communities have saved several thousand acres of land by creating these unique greenway areas.
• Conservation subdivision adds value to homes and fosters a better quality of life to municipalities.
