The Schuylkill River Sojourn
2001 was recently held June 2-8, and traveled 106 miles down Pennsylvania's
first Scenic River, from Schuylkill Haven to Philadelphia. Avid and amateur
paddlers in canoes and kayaks joined in, some for the whole week, others
for just a day or two. |

The Sojourn ended at noon on Friday, June 8, in Philadelphia at Fairmount Park's Lloyd Hall, where Sojourners arrived, escorted by the Philadelphia Women's Dragon Boat Team. Additional programs on birding, historic mills, and 19th century timbering practices were just a few of the highlights for sojourners to learn and appreciate more about the Schuylkill River environment, past and present.
