Bees not only make honey but also play an important role in our environment. They help distribute pollen among various flowering plants, which leads to pollination. Pollination allows fertilization to occur; which produces seeds that allow the plants to reproduce. The seeds are in turn used as a food source by many species of animals. Bees are responsible for pollinating nearly 80 percent of all the fruits and vegetables we eat!

Bee pollen is also collected and is described by Walt as "one of the most perfect foods". Although it is not completely understood by scientists, pollen is loaded with nutritional value. It contains 18 amino acids, numerous vitamins, minerals and hormones. In fact, bee pollen contains all the essential elements needed for life.

Bee pollen's nutritional benefits are reported to increase strength, raise energy, improve resistance to infection, promote the production of red and white blood cells and help asthma and allergy sufferers. There is a seemingly endless list of positive qualities for bee pollen. However, as with any medicine or medicinal product, make sure you consult your doctor first!
