PROGRAMS
GreenTreks Network, Inc. shares its personal stories with a broad
audience through high-quality television documentaries, interactive
websites, educational materials, and community outreach. Our programs
expose millions of people to our work, people who may otherwise never
have become involved in environmental change. Many of us feel overwhelmed
by environmental issues. GreenTreks makes it possible for anyone to
get involved in protecting the environment.
On Location
On Location is a series of environmental television travelogues. Each
episode looks at a different eco-region of our diverse nation, what
makes it so special and the ordinary people who are working
to keep their local environment healthy for generations to come. Each
program is complimented by an extensive website to help viewers learn
more about the region.
Natural Heroes
GreenTreks, in partnership with KRCB in Northern California, presents
Natural Heroes. Natural Heroes is a compilation of independently produced
films from all over the country (and, potentially, all over the world).
One common thread runs through each story: real people can, and do,
make a difference for our environment.
Documentaries
At the heart of the GreenTreks lies our personal storytelling ability.
We've found that high-quality documentaries have the profound ability
to touch our audience, while introducing them to the lives of people
making a difference for the environment.
Our documentaries reach the public through television, regional and
national film festivals, face-to-face opportunities, and through community
screenings thanks to our GreenTreks Network of Friends. Our films
make people more aware of important issues, move them to ask more
questions, and inspire them to make changes and become personally
involved.
Watershed.tv
If you're interested in learning more about water quality, and what
you can do to protect the water in your own backyard, Watersheds.tv
is the place for you. Each week the Watersheds.tv website brings you
personal stories of people making a difference in their own communities.
Everything we do affects our water quality, so whether it's a story
about abandoned mine drainage or nutrient management, it has a connection
to our water and Watersheds.tv brings these stories to you.
The stories are a personal trek through the watersheds of Pennsylvania;
to learn more about the problems affecting our streams and rivers,
and to meet the folks who are 'getting their feet wet' to improve
their water quality. Pennsylvania has more miles of waterways than
almost any other state, so there are many miles to travel and many
stories to tell!
GreenTreks
Channels
The GreenTreks Network presents the GreenTreks TV Channels Site, a
web-broadcasting center that combines the best of environmental video
with the interactivity of web video streaming. GreenTreks is creating
many new partnerships to bring you a wide array of environmental stories,
short features, interviews, and useful information.
Woodchuck
Cafe
Humans are certainly not alone in this world yet we often think
of environmental impacts only so far as they affect us, forgetting
about other creatures that are equally affected by our actions.
The Woodchuck Cafe brings you environmental stories from across the globe, and includes commentary from our host Woodchuck, aka groundhog. If it's thought provoking, informative, and fresh it's the Woodchuck
Cafe.
GreenWorks.tv
Our Original award-winning web site features a closer look at environmental
issues and protection efforts in Pennsylvania. Each episode of the
television series, GreenWorks, is featured on the site, along with
games, web cams, audio reports, articles and insightful information
that help you become a better steward for the Earth.
"We feel that Greenworks is important and interesting to all audiences and appropriate viewing and learning experience for all age groups."
